I have been approached by two companies to partner with them in bringing a new product to market. The two products are extremely complementary, but neither company is aware of the synergistic opportunities that a joint launch would provide.
The market would be SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses).
The first company’s benefits include a single Linux Appliance the replaces all the SMB Business Platform Servers at a quarter to a tenth of the IT (HR plus Asset) cost of a Microsoft or HP or IBM solution. The Appliance contains/provides: network security, firewall, data backup, disaster recovery, Web, remote access, file, print and directory services and an Office Suite that includes email, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. It also Inter-operates and shares files between Windows®, Macintosh, and UNIX® workstations and provides anytime and anywhere access to the network with remote access and Webmail capabilities. It also supports access to and interaction with Microsoft Outlook, should you want to keep Outlook; but this product is truly a “Microsoft Killer”.
In the same “Appliance” context, the second company provides Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing at a fraction of the traditional cost. For the past 20 years, I have specialized in building Data Warehouses, and this is truly the best product of its kind.
I “retired” less than six months ago, but I am eager to get back into the “real world” with an opportunity like this. If you are interested in knowing more about either of these two products from a supplier or user perspective, please discuss here and/or link to me and let me know.
Thanks. Boyd Carter ( boyd.carter@elegantsolutions.ca )
